Big Sur in an RV
Ninety miles where the Santa Lucia range drops straight into the Pacific, with Highway 1 cut into the side of it. Most people give it 3 days.
When to goApril through October. Check for slides before you go, because the road closes regularly.
What fitsUp to 27 feet. Loop roads in the park are narrow, the turns are tight and most sites are cut for something short.
What catches people outThe road is narrow with no shoulder and long stretches with nowhere to turn around. Not the place to learn.
Where you would actually stay
Picked for the trip rather than a list somebody was paid to be on. Anything with a link books direct with them, and we will do it for you if you would rather not spend the evening on hold.
