Crater Lake in an RV
The deepest lake in the country, sitting in a collapsed volcano, and a blue that does not photograph properly. Most people give it 2 days.
When to goJuly through September. The rim road is under snow the rest of the year.
What fitsUp to 30 feet. Loop roads in the park are narrow, the turns are tight and most sites are cut for something short.
What catches people outMazama Village is the only campground and it opens late. Nights are cold at seven thousand feet in August.
