Recalls on file

NHTSA has 6 recalls on file for the Tiffin Wayfarer. The most common areas are tank assembly (1), labels (1) and lugs and nuts and bolts and studs (1). Each one is listed below as filed. A recall is fixed free at a dealer, even on a used rig, and even years later.

Recalls on the engine, brakes and chassis of a motorhome are often filed under the chassis maker, such as Ford, Freightliner or Mercedes, not under the coach. A VIN check shows both.

Tank assembly · model year 2026 · 26V557000, filed August 31, 2026

What is wrong. Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Wayfarer recreational vehicles. The liquid propane (LP) tank may have been manufactured without the remote shut off and may be loose in the mounting bracket.

What can happen. LP tanks that cannot be shut off increase the risk of a fire. Additionally a loose LP tank may detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix. Dealers will install a remote shut off and replace the bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by October 30, 2026. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is WAY-108.

Labels · model year 2026 · 26V342000, filed May 27, 2026

What is wrong. Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Open Trail, Wayfarer, and 2026 Midas recreational vehicles. Questions owners ask

Where can I find the Tiffin Wayfarer owner's manual?

Tiffin does not have manuals online that we could find. The makers of the fridge, water heater, furnace and slides do, and they cover most of the rig. Our free manuals on this page explain how each system works.

Does the Tiffin Wayfarer have any recalls?

Yes. NHTSA lists 6 recalls for it. The most common area is tank assembly. Check your own VIN on the NHTSA site to see if yours was fixed.

Is a recall repair free on a used RV?

Yes. A safety recall is fixed free by the maker's dealers no matter who owns the rig now or how old it is. Call the maker or any dealer for that brand with your VIN.

Where is the VIN on an RV?

Look for a sticker by the entry door, inside a cabinet near the door, or on the tongue or front frame of a trailer. The title and registration show it too.
